Isla Barro Colorado
Getting Here and Around
Barro Colorado can only be visited on tours run by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Tours leave from the STRI pier in Gamboa at 7:15 am on weekdays and 8 on weekends. The pier is on the left after the dredging division and has a parking lot. From Panama City, you can hire a taxi ($20-$30), or book through a tour operator, which will pick you up at your hotel.
