Río Sidra

The first airstrip to the east of El Porvenir is on the mainland near the islands of Río Sidra, Momarketup, and Isla Ratón. Río Sidra is the largest of those communities, and is a good place to see how the Kuna live, but the real attraction is on and around the sparsely populated islands farther out at sea. Those enchanting isles have immaculate beaches washed by crystalline waters and rustic lodges nestled amid coconut groves. The lodges are alternatives to accommodations near El Porvenir, since they are just as close to Isla Perro and have enough coral reefs nearby to keep you snorkeling for days.
