Finca Lérida Review

This working coffee farm on the eastern slope of Volcán Barú above Boquete has almost 650 acres of bird-replete cloud forest, and birders make up the bulk of the clientele here. The hotel has a resident nature guide and offers bird-watching tours. Rooms are either in the newer mountainside eco-lodge or in the original farmhouse B&B. Eco-lodge rooms are bright and spacious with hardwood floors, high, sloping ceilings, one king or two queen beds, and picture windows with panoramic views, but immediate surroundings are a bit bare. They share a large lounge with a fireplace, self-service bar, and library. The small restaurant has views and serves hearty lunches and dinners. B&B rooms are smaller, older, and less expensive but have character, and the house is surrounded by big trees and gardens—great for bird-watching. Kids under 10 aren't allowed in the B&B.
