Getting Here and Around

It's an easy 45-minute drive to Boquete from David, where you follow Avenida Obaldía north, which becomes a four-lane highway. From David's airport, turn left onto Avenida Reed Gray, then left onto Calle F Sur at the police station and right onto the two-lane Interamericana (CA1). Get into the left lane and watch for the turnoff for Boquete. Buses depart from David's terminal every 30 minutes and take about 60 minutes to reach Boquete. From Boquete, catch the bus to David on Avenida Central anywhere south of the parque central. The trip costs $2. If you bus from Cerro Punta, Paso Canoas, or Bocas del Toro, you'll need to change to the Boquete bus in David.

Boquete's local transportation is via vans that depart regularly from Avenida Central just north of the parque central for either the Alto Quiel/Bajo Mono loop or the Alto Lino/Palo Alto loop. They pick up and drop off passengers anywhere en route for $1. Taxis wait around the parque central and charge $1-$5 for valley trips.
