A new branch of an old Oaxacan bookstore, Amate Books stocks books on all kinds of Mexican themes—from art and cooking to archaeology and language—in English. This cool building with high ceilings and old ceramic-tile floors is a beautiful setting in which to browse, meet people, and ask questions about local goings-on.
