By far the nicest hotel in Ría Lagartos, the 12 rooms have TVs, private balconies, water views, and colorful decor like paintings of local wildlife. Stone walls and tile floors keep rooms rather cool, but there are fans and a/c for those who need an extra breeze. The hotel has four floors (no elevator), but guests staying in lower-level rooms can still catch a view from the rooftop bar and lookout tower, which are closed to children due to safety precautions. The restaurant
(open for breakfast and dinner) serves seafood, salads, and vegetarian dishes but is open to hotel guests only. The owner is constantly making efforts to improve the property, and there are plans to add a plunge pool and communal kitchen. In the meantime, guests can cool off in the water directly across the street; beach chairs and coolers are available free of charge at the front desk.
