This three-story white hotel in the beach town of San Felipe, 10 km (6 mi) west of Parque Natural Ría Lagartos, is basic, but adequate. Each room has two twin beds or a double—some are mushy, some hard—and walls are decorated with regional scenes painted by the owner. The two most expensive rooms have private terraces with marina views (ask for a hammock) and are worth the small splurge. The owner can arrange fly-fishing expeditions for tarpon.
