Parque Zoológico El Centenario
Parque Zoológico El Centenario Review
Mérida's greatest children's attraction, this large amusement complex features playgrounds, inexpensive rides like motorized cars, small electric merry-go-round style rides, pony rides, a small train ($1) that circles the park, a rollerblading rink, and cages with more than 300 native animals as well as exotics such as lions, tigers, and bears. At the exit, there are snack bars and vendors. It also has picnic areas, pleasant wooded paths, and a small lake where you can rent rowboats. The French Renaissance-style arch (1921) commemorates the 100th anniversary of Mexican independence.
