Chef-owner Gabriela Praget puts a healthful, cosmopolitan spin on Mexican fare. Traditional dishes like chiles en nogada (stuffed pepper in a walnut sauce) or duck in a dark, rich mole sauce share the menu with gourmet vegetarian cuisine. Standouts include potato and cheese tacos, ratatouille in puff pastry, and crêpes made with huitlachoche (a delicious trufflelike corn fungus). The dining room—a casual covered patio decorated with plants, copies of Frida
Kahlo self-portraits, several Frida dolls, and other art—is a comfortable place to enjoy a leisurely meal. Praget prepares all the dishes herself and is usually on hand to greet guests. Don't be alarmed if "Coco," her little white rabbit, hops between the tables. Note that a 15% service charge is automatically added to your bill.
