If you can look beyond the plastic flowers, cement bed frames, and vending machines at reception, this cheerful hotel can be quite a bargain—especially the rooms in the newer wing that have powerful air-conditioning, comfy beds, and amenities like large TVs and balconies. The older (and cheaper) rooms have fans in addition to air-conditioning that can be a bit musty. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and shaded by giant trees, and there's a comfortable restaurant
and bar at the front of the property. Fans of Frida Kahlo will enjoy the dining area, where paintings of the Mexican artist adorn the walls. This is one of the few downtown hotels with a laundromat, parking garage, and security.
