Tuxpan

Tuxpan

A peaceful riverside town with a tangle of twisting streets, Tuxpan—almost as often referred to as Tuxpam—is a pleasant place to stop if you're driving along the coast. The most popular form of public transportation is the fleet of baby-blue lanchas (small motorboats) that carry commuters across the Río Tuxpan. A round-trip journey from any of the docks along the river costs about 40¢. In the evening you'll find people strolling along the palm-lined waterfront promenade and watching the sun set over the water. Running parallel to the river, busy Avenida Juárez is lined with restaurants, hotels, and shops.
