  I have to correct this entry. Carolina's does serve dinner. In fact, they have always served dinner unless there is some special reason not to. That said, if you want to avoid a wait or ensure that you will have a table, it is best to stop by in the afternoon and check with her (Carolina) since she may have larger tour groups. She will tell you the best time to arrive and you can even order ahead. Remember, this is Batopilas and not NYC. The restaurant is also her home. If you arrive and the doors are locked you can always knock or ask a neighbor if she is around. Alternatively, just across from Carolina's is Dona Mica's restaurant (with the yellow iron gates) and she also serves a great B/L/D. In terms of the Batopilas experience, I would rate the food in either restaurant as the best in town although if you want a steak and a little cantina flavor you can go to Puente Colgante. For the cheapest food try Quinto Patio or La Nevada...or, if they're open, El Zaguan. Again, one caveat, Batopilas is an isolated town in rural Mexico. You may do well to adjust your expectations re: service, etc. What you will get in Carolina's and Dona Mica's is clean, authentic, tasty Mexican cuisine and genuine hospitality.
