In an emergency call 060 or 066. For roadside assistance contact the Angeles Verdes. If you get into a scrape with the law, you can call your nearest consulate; U.S. citizens can also call the Overseas Citizens Services Center in the United States. The Mexican Ministry of Tourism has Infotur, a 24-hour toll-free hotline. Two medical emergency evacuation services are Air Ambulance Network and Global Life Flight.

Cornerstone is the newest hospital in PV (opened 2004). It accepts various types of foreign health insurance and traveler's insurance and is American owned. The other recommended, privately owned hospital is Hospital San Javier Marina. Although most small towns have at least a clinic, there are no hospitals north or south of PV.

Both the Cornerstone and San Javier Marina hospitals have pharmacies that are open to the public.
