The public spaces and rooms here meld traditional Mexican architecture with more modern elements and lots of tile. The owners take good care of their gay (male) guests, and don't allow straights or lesbians to book rooms. A trio of little Pomeranians have the run of the place, but they're friendly. The clothing-optional guesthouse is securely tucked behind old walls in Gringo Gulch, a straight neighborhood made famous by Liz and Richard. Views of the town and bay are outstanding from the rooftop aerie, and some of the rooms have great views, too. Pros: Gay-only policy suits some folks; clothing-optional, heated swimming pool. Cons: Outside the gay Zona Romantica; some of the wicker furniture in public spaces is fussy or uncomfortable

I would arrange my trip to PV around vacancy at Villa David. A great place and the owners really do take great care of their guests.
