Contiguous with Guayabitos, at the north end of the bay, La Peñita has fewer hotels and a beach that's often abandoned save for a few fishermen. Its name means "little rock." The center for area business, La Peñita has banks, shoe stores, and ice cream shops; a typical market held each Thursday offers knock-off CDs, polyester clothing, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
