About 8 km (5 mi) north of San Pancho, Lo de Marcos is a humble town of quiet, wide streets that sometimes fill up on weekends and holidays with Mexican families renting the nondescript, bungalow-style motel rooms that predominate. After entering town on the main street, head left on the last road before the beach to reach Playa las Minitas, a small brown-sand beach on a pretty little cove framed by rocks. When not camped out at a half-dozen seafood shanties specializing in barbecued fish, local people bob in the super-tranquil surf. Continue another 1/2 km (¼ mi) along the road to Playa los Venados, which like Las Minitas, is a good spot for both swimming and snorkeling.
