Fodor's Review:
No longer the be-all and end-all of taco consumption in PV, Pepe's still can't be beat at 4 or 5 AM, when most sensible taco-makers are asleep. Although these diminutive tacos are a meat-lover's treat, there are quesadillas -- and one taco with grilled onions and bell peppers, cheese, and canned mushrooms -- for wayward vegetarians. Order tacos individually for about 70 each to try different types, or by the set. Or order one of several plates for two with a stack of tortillas. Expect plastic tablecloths and sports on several TVs at this open-door dive across from the Pemex station at the north end of Old Vallarta.

A dive to be sure, but the inexpensive tacos are the best around. Service is sporadic, but friendly, the bathrooms are utilitarian at best, but still, the tacos are amazing and cheap.
