Silver jewelry ranges in price from $3 per gram for simpler pieces to $30 a gram for the lighter, finer-quality, more complex pieces. There's high-grade "950" silver jewelry in addition to the usual "925" sterling silver. Look for gold settings as well. Most of the semiprecious stones—amethyst, topaz, malachite, black onyx, and opal in 28 colors—are of Mexican origin. They sell blue diamond jewelry and increasingly rare tanzanite. The diamond-cut necklaces are magnificent. If you want to comparison-shop, there are three or four other jewelry stores in the immediate vicinity.
