Fodor's Review:
Joyería El Opalo, a bright spot in a nearly abandoned mall, has managed to remain afloat through its cruise ship contacts. Silver jewelry ranges in price from $1.50 per gram for simpler pieces to $6 a gram for the lighter, finer quality and more complex pieces. There's high-grade "950" silver jewelry in addition to the usual 0.925 sterling silver, and gold settings as well. Most of the semi-precious stones -- amethyst, topaz, malachite, black onyx, and opal in 28 colors -- are of Mexican origin. The diamond-cut necklaces are magnificent.
