Fodor's Review:

Philo's is the unofficial cultural center and meeting place of La Cruz, with music, food, a large-screen TV, a diminutive swimming pool, and pool table. The namesake owner, a former record producer, also has a small recording studio here. The space is plain but there's excellent live music after 9 PM Thursday through Saturday year-round. Get down with rhythm and blues, country, and rock; or chow down on good pizza or on Thursday evenings, barbecue.
