Carlos O'Brien's is the destination of choice for Vallarta's very young people—a mix of local teens and foreigners come after midnight to mingle and party, especially on weekends. Music is a bit of everything: rock, house, techno, banda, hip-hop, disco, you name it. The ground floor fills up from early afternoon, however, with cruise-shippers and other travelers seeking food and drinks in a relatively familiar atmosphere. There's an $8 cover on weekend nights and also during the week during high season. When the place is hopping it stays open until dawn.
