Vine-covered trees poke through the roof of the breeze-blessed, covered outdoor eatery overlooking a placid lagoon. The Carvajal family has worked hard to make this a favorite Nuevo Vallarta restaurant, though the Punta de Mita branch is also nice, on a pretty beach and the original Pitillal location is popular for a trip back in time to Vallarta's roots. Tino's is full even midweek, mainly with groups of friends or businesspeople leisurely discussing deals. A multitude of solicitous, efficient waiters proffer green-lipped mussels meunière, crab enchiladas, oysters, and the regional specialty, fish sarandeado (rubbed with herbs and cooked over a wood fire). Concha de Tino is a dish with seafood, bacon, mushrooms, and spinach prettily presented in three seashells.
