Fodor's Review

Palms and plants edge the walkways that line the swimming pool and goldfish ponds; balconies look down on this idyllic garden scene. Suites have full kitchens, shower-only baths, and tropical-style furniture in a muted palette. The hotel is on a cobblestone street off the highway; if you don't want to hoof it into Puerto Vallarta, take one of the local buses that pass by every 10 or 15 minutes. The beach is a five-minute walk away, on the other side of the highway; and

the village of Mismaloya, with wandering chickens and sometimes pigs, is within squealing distance. The stylish Boca Bento Latin Bar & Grill is on-site; if you eat too much, you can always sign up for the hotel's six-week "Slenderize" program.

I-Guana GO BACK!!

This is a great value!! And away from the crowds! The bus runs frequenty right at the end of the road and is only 50 cents to take into PV, about a 20 minute ride! We had the 3 bedroom suite and a HUGE balcony all to ourselves! It couldn't have been nicer! Great kitchen, living room/sitting area, dining area, clean big bathrooms, and 3 nice sized bedrooms. Service is "Mexican-style", for example, you have to buy your own ice at the little store in

the hotel. If you want a CD player, hairdryer, or microwave, they'll bring one to you, but they're somewhat outdated and don't always work! Nice pool, very quiet, tho, but if that's what you want, this is the place!! Staff was wonderful! I wouldn't hesitate to go back again! The other rooms were a little dark, but the suite was just perfect!!

Quieter Slower Pace Just Outside PV

We stayed her this January and the place was extremely quiet, and wonderful. Super clean but basic rooms, all two bedrooms, with queen bed in one room and 2 twins in the other. Kitchenette with basics and satellite television, with CNN, Discovery, Hallmark Channel and a few Spanish language channels. The pool area is great, very clean. Hot tub is not hot though, so we didn't use it. The restaurant was okay, drinks were a little on the small side

for Vallarta and breakfast was just so-so (get yourself to Memo's Pancake House if you want a fantastic breakfast!!) The maids cleaned our room daily, and did a wonderful job. There is a small laundry on site, plus a small "cyber cafe" with a few computers for use. Also a supermarket for the essentials. We took the bus into town almost every day for a mere 45 cents each. Mismaloya Beach was only a 5 minute walk away. Great deal for a couple or a family!!!!
