Fodor's Expert Review La Ola Rica
One of San Pancho's first upscale restaurants, "The Delicious Wave," has still got it goin' on. Small, medium-crust, wood-fired pizzas are just right for an appetizer (try the Brie pizza with caramelized onions) or, with a soup or salad, as a delicious dinner for one. Another good appetizer is the fresh white-cheese round served with warm tomato sauce and fresh basil. The margaritas are lovely, and wine by the glass is a generous portion. Eat to the beat of a jazz-dominated soundtrack on the covered patio overlooking the street, or inside the home-cum-restaurant, artfully decorated with eclectic paintings, photographs of Old Mexico, and saints in niches. Summer hours vary each season, depending on tourist traffic; it's best to call during the off-season to double-check days and hours open.
