Nayarit Coast

  • Bucerías

The beach here is endless -- you could walk it all the way to Nuevo Vallarta -- and the surf is gentle.

  • Punta de Mita

It's home to the posh Four Seasons resort (and its golf course) as well as several great beaches.

  • San Francisco

San Pancho has undeveloped stretches and many good restaurants.

  • Sayulita

Although the town is growing, it's still laid back and the beach is curvaceous and palm fringed.

Nayarit Coast

North of PV and just over the border of Jalisco State is Nuevo Vallarta, a planned resort area and the southernmost town in Nayarit State. It has few restaurants and shops outside the resorts and the Paradise Plaza mall. Farther north, Bucerías, Sayulita, San Francisco, and La Cruz de Huancaxtle attract visitors with small-town charm. Exclusive Punta de Mita is dominated by the Four Seasons. Lovely, untouristy beaches complete the picture.
