Palms and plants edge the walkways that line the swimming pool and goldfish ponds; balconies look down on this idyllic garden scene. Suites have full kitchens, shower-only baths, and tropical-style furniture in a muted palette. The hotel is on a cobblestone street off the highway; if you don't want to hoof it into Puerto Vallarta, take one of the local buses that pass by every 10 or 15 minutes. The beach is a five-minute walk away, on the other side of the highway; and the village of Mismaloya, with wandering chickens and sometimes pigs, is within squealing distance. The stylish La Enredadera restaurant is on-site; if you eat too much, you can always sign up for the hotel's six-week "Slenderize" program.
