Mealtimes

Mealtimes

Mexican mealtimes are generally as follows. Upon rising: coffee, and perhaps pan dulce (sweet breads). Schedule permitting, Mexicans love to eat a hearty almuerzo, a full breakfast, at about 10. Comida, typically between 2 and 5 pm, is the main meal. Cena is between 8 pm and 9 pm.

Restaurants have long hours in PV, though seafood "shacks" on the beach often close by late afternoon or sunset. Outside the resorts of PV, southern Nayarit, and the Costalegre, restaurants may close by 7 or 8 pm, be sure to check so you don't go without supper. Unless otherwise noted, the restaurants listed in this guide are open daily for lunch and dinner.
