Bahía de la Luna

Fodor's Review:

This collection of thatch-roof bungalows is the only accommodation on beautiful La Boquilla beach, a water-taxi ride away from Puerto Angel. Rooms are very simple, though a tad more chic than the beach huts of Mazunte or Zipolite, with nightstands and bedposts made from found wood. Note that some units are on the hillside, and paths are steep. There's nothing to do here but lie on the beach or snorkel, but the hotel can arrange tours to natural areas and nearby beaches and towns. Pros: On a pretty beach with abundant marine life, secluded and quiet location. Cons: Need to take expensive water-taxi ride to and from Puerto Angel, no other facilities on beach, basic accommodations (no hot water and limited electricity), kind of pricey in high season.

  • Hotel Details: 11 bungalows
  • In-room: no phone, no TV.
  • In-hotel: restaurant.
  • Credit Cards: No credit cards
