This tidy hotel across from Parque Paseo Juarez (El Llano) caters mostly to Mexican travelers. Although part of the hotel is in a converted mansion, the basic rooms are devoid of colonial charm. They are, however, clean and comfortable, and most face a small courtyard garden. The restaurant is popular with locals for lunch and weekend brunch. The staff is very friendly but few of them speak fluent English. Pros: Good value, authentic restaurant, off the tourist track. Cons: Basic rooms, 10-minute walk to main square, some noise during the day.
