Parque Nacional Laguna Chacahua

Fodor's Review:

About 74 km (46 mi) west of Puerto Escondido is the Parque Nacional Laguna Chacahua (Chacahua Lake National Park). You can tour the lagoon in a small motor launch, watching the birds that hunt among the mangroves. The bird population is biggest during the winter months, when migratory species arrive from the frozen north. Most tours from Puerto Escondido include a visit to a crocodile farm and an hour or two on the beach at Cerro Hermoso.
