Everything about this hotel is luxurious—except for the rates. Each room of this Mediterannean-style hotel is different, but all have adobe-style rounded walls, a soothing beige-on-bone color scheme, and a minimalist approach to decor. The honeymoon suite has a huge garden patio filled with plants, a wrought-iron table and chairs, and a fountain. The youthful owner works out with half the town in the popular on-site gym. He and his wife cater to their guests, many of them Mexican businesspeople, in a way that virtually guarantees return business. The restaurant is the toast of the town. Pros: Great value, air-conditioned rooms, friendly staff. Cons: Away from the beaches, rooms are a little sparse, some bathrooms are small.
