The Villa Belmar's array of arches, domes, and cupolas—done in Mediterranean white and blue—give it the appearance of a crazy and secluded castle. The one-bedroom apartments and comfortable double rooms attract a mix of people, although the place has a lonely feel, often with no guests in sight. Many accommodations have balconies from which to admire Playa Zicatela. There you'll find the restaurant and beach club offering an array of shows; it's still a bit of a walk to Calle del Morro. You can rent by the day in high season and by the week or the month at other times. Pros: Rooftop pool with views, away from busy Calle Morro. Cons: Not right on the beach, rooms are nothing fancy.
