This narrow, open-fronted but under-ventilated restaurant across from the main plaza is popular with Mexican tourists. Learn the ABCs of Oaxacan cooking by trying one of the massive sampler plates (enough for two or three people). You can go as far as cactus soup or crunchy grasshoppers (in season). The pork enmolada (in a chile sauce) is a showstopper, gently spicy and deeply marinated. It's open until 11 PM, so this is a good place for a late-night snack.
