María Teresa Villarreal, the owner and operator of this pleasant little place, proudly shows off her restored colonial-style home. It's not fancy, but the lived-in feeling suits most people just fine; in fact, there are long-term guests from time to time. You can mingle with other guests on the open patio gladdened with laurel and lemon trees. Those staying in standard rooms share a brightly colored outdoor kitchen, while those who have booked studios get kitchenettes
with coffeemakers and other essentials.

Afetr many failed attempts, we received an eamils from Las Mariposas. The owner, Tersa, said:"Yes, it is high season, but even though at the moment we don't have a vacancy, please come! if no one has vacated we'll find you a room somewhere else. We did go and had a smallish cool room for the first night, but the following day had a lovely sunny one for the rest of the stay. Because of Tersa's care in whatever is needed, the relaxed continental breakfasts,
(all the "cafe de olla" you want, use of the fridge, and an easy mingling with interesting people, sandi if you wish) the security and personal attention from her helpers, we've gone back again for a month and loved it.
