Entrada a Casa Oaxaca
set up for tables
A drink before dinner in the courtyard was restoring and delightful
A trio of imaginative Europeans poured their hearts and souls into this chic B&B. Their house combines traditional materials like adobe and cantera stone with minimalist sensibilities. The result is a masterpiece where gleaming white colonnades lead you to your room. Each room is different; some have little sunrooms overlooking the indigo-tile pool; others have sitting areas where you can enjoy a cocktail. Put yourself in the hands of a spiritual healer who will guide
you through the cleansing experience of temazcal in the small poolside hut.

This well-kept secret is a glorious retreat, tastefully and artfully decorated throughout. Good food (try the Chilles Noraga for a real mexican treat), excellent service from the moment the door opens and wonderful touches such as nightly Oaxacan chocolates, glorious carrot bread and home-made marmalades for breakfast, and wonderfully cosy sheets made of the local cloth. Could not be closer to the town's sites if it tried! All in all a real find.
