Fodor's Review:

The squat structures of the compact, little-visited Xel-Há Archaeological Site are thought to have been inhabited from about 300 BC-AD 100, until about 1200-1521. The most interesting sights are on the north end of the ruins, where remains of a Mayan sacbé (road) and mural paintings in the Jaguar House sit near a tranquil, deep cenote. The site takes about 45 minutes to visit.

  • Cost: $3, free Sun.
  • Open: Daily 8-5
