This ultra-hip hotel has won awards for its innovative design. You'll find imaginatively recycled materials all over the hotel, from the used tires laid down to create the spongy lobby floor to the rooftop lounge chairs made from boxes that were once pickup truck beds. The roof also has two small pools made of recycled oil tanks, and a small bar where Playa's young and hip meet up with hotel guests for late-night drinks. Guest rooms, though equipped with plasma TVs and DVD players, are designed to look very basic, with plain cement walls, exposed plumbing, and floating beds, as well fun details like old beach balls and fins.
