This enormous all-inclusive serves its luxury with an extra helping of glitz: oversize columns at the entrance, gigantic crystal chandeliers, gold details, and fountains. But its natural resorces are what really shine—the beach is breathtaking, and the service is exceptional. You're permitted to use the amenities of any of Riu Palace's six sister hotels throughout Playa del Carmen.

    We visited the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in November 2007. I can't say enough good things about the place. The rooms were immaculate, the service was wonderful and it was worth every penny we paid for the vacation. I have noticed a few negatives on the Riu Palace Riviera Maya - yes, it is 'glitzy,' but so what? When I'm on vacation, I like a little 'glitz!' I highly recommend this fine property!
