Emergencies in Mexico City

Emergencies

Most embassies recommend that you register your visit to Mexico with them, so that they're aware of your whereabouts in the event of an emergency. In an emergency it's also highly recommended that you contact your embassy's consular services before, or in lieu of, calling local authorities. Local emergency numbers are 060, 065, or 080 for police, Red Cross, ambulance, fire, or other emergency situations. If you're not able to reach an English-speaking operator, call the Sectur hotline. For missing persons or cars call Locatel. You'll find English-speaking staff at both the American British Cowdray Hospital and Hospital Español. The Farmacias del Ahorro chain stays open until 10 PM. There are branches throughout the city; you can locate the closest branch by using their Web site, www.fahorro.com.mx.
