During a meal in this magnificent old ex-convent it may be hard not to fall into gluttony. Dark mahogany furniture, crisp white table linens, and beautiful blue-and-white Talavera place settings strike a note of restrained opulence. For a classic treat, have the sopa de tortilla (tortilla soup); note that the puntas de filete (sirloin tips) are liberally laced with chiles. Desserts—from crunchy meringues to pastries—are very rich.
