Galeria de Arte Mexicano

Fodor's Review:

The Galeria de Arte Mexicano, founded in 1935, was the first place in Mexico City dedicated full-time to the sale and promotion of art (before its inception, there were no official galleries in the city). The GAM, as it's often referred to, has played an important role in many Mexican art movements and continues to support many of the most important artists in the country. GAM has also published noteworthy books; these works and catalogs are available at the gallery bookstore.
