The first W hotel in Latin America grooves with sassy red, black, and white colors under colorful fluorescent lighting. It manages to be informal and chic at the same time, with the staff clad in casual black rather than the usual stiff uniforms. Guest rooms feature some outside-the-box design: bathrooms are big enough for a dance, strung with hammocks, and feature pressure-point showers; sinks are placed inside the bedroom European-style. Work areas have enormous desks and ergonomic chairs; some rooms are outfitted with faxes and scanners. See and be seen in the red lobby bar or just chill in the Music Lounge. The Away spa has a huge pre-Hispanic temazcal (adobe-domed sweat lodge). Pros: Special touches, nice place to hang out. Cons: More attention is paid to look than comfort.
