This pioneering photography center, housed in a former colonial tobacco-processing plant, stages the city's most important photography exhibitions, as well as occasional shows of contemporary sculpture and other art or mixed media. Photography by international artists is often grouped thematically, drawing parallels between various cultures. This is also a good place to pick up some English-language reading material—the center publishes books, catalogs, and a bilingual magazine.
