Iglesia de San Francisco

Iglesia de San Francisco Review

On the site of Mexico's first convent (1524), this 18th-century structure in a French neo-Gothic style has served as a barracks, a hotel, a circus, a theater, and a Methodist temple. On Independence Day in 1856 a conspiracy was uncovered here, leading to a temporary banishment of the convent's religious folk.
