Fodor's Review:

Smart yet unpretentious, this restaurant in the south of the city is characterized by its generous portions of top-quality beef. The flavorful chistorra (a semicured chorizo-type sausage) stands out from the wide range of starters; vegetarians can choose from soups, pastas, and salads. The bife de chorizo (rump steak) is unforgettable, and big eaters might find room for one of the traditional desserts. Colonia Guadalupe Inn is a 10-minute taxi ride north from central San Angel, but if you are coming from the north the restaurant is just six blocks from the end of the metro line at Barranca del Muerte.
