Fodor's Review:

Under the auspices of the National Council for Culture and Arts, Fonart (National Fund for Promoting Arts and Crafts) operates three stores in Mexico City and others around the country. Prices are fixed and high, but the diverse, top-quality folk art and handcrafted furnishings from all over Mexico represent some of the best artisans. The best location is downtown, west of Alameda Park. Major sales at near-wholesale prices are held from time to time at the main store-warehouse.
