This long, expansive beach on the Pacific Ocean, about 64 km (40 mi) north of Cabo San Lucas and on the way to the town of Todos Santos, is famous among surfers for its wonderful breaking waves in winter. Even if you don't ride the waves, you can watch them crash along the shore. The vast, unspoiled beauty of this soft-sand beach makes a visit worthwhile, especially since there are plans for developing this entire stretch of coastline. Within a few years, this area will be be forever changed. Swimming is not recommended because of the strong currents.
Most of the surfing crowd camps or stays in RVs near the beach. The fairly secluded area covers the basics with a few conveniences—including water, a small food stand, and a surf shop. The beach is 2.5 km (1.5 mi) from Highway 19, which connects Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos.
