Located just west of Santa María Bay, this small public beach is also called Twin Dolphin Beach after the Twin Dolphin Hotel, a longtime landmark that was demolished in mid-2007. This is a great place for snorkeling (bring your own gear), but it is open to the ocean and all the inherent dangers that entails, so swim with extreme caution, or not at all if the water is rough. Low tides reveal great tidal pools filled with anemone, starfish, and other sea creatures. These days, in order to get to the beach you'll need to walk westward along the beach at Santa María, or up over the hill to Las Viudas. It's also said that you can gain access to the beach through the gated entrance on the southwest side of the old hotel entrance. Development of the property should be taking place in 2008, so wait and see about access to the beach once this begins.
