As Los Cabos continues on its upscale trajectory, it's safe to declare that this region has arrived and the shopping here has gone palatial. There is no better, or more apt, way to describe Puerto Paraíso, the city's thriving, air-conditioned three-story marble- and glass-enclosed mall. With 126 stores, boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and services, it's quickly becoming the shopping and social center of San Lucas. Paraíso offers a dizzying selection from "A" as in Amarone an Italian gourmet restaurant, to "Z" as in the Zingara Swimwear shop. Whether you're of the mind to have a tasty steak or a gourmet Italian dinner, dine at Senor Greenburg's "Mexicatessen" and Internet café, custom-design your own bikini, shop for beautiful art glass, or rent (or even buy) a Harley Davidson "Fatboy" motorcycle, plan on spending substantial time here in shopper's paradise (the Spanish paraiso translates to paradise). Kaki Bassi, a longtime Cabo resident and well-known local artist, has opened a gallery here, as has Sergio Bustamante. Clothing shops include Cotton Club, Guess, and Quicksilver, plus a number of beachwear boutiques such as Allegra (casual wear), Serdio, Dos Lunas, Arena, Tropica Calipso, and Nautica. A bowling alley and a 10-screen movie theater complex will take care of your entertainment needs.
