Fodor's Review

Rooms are spacious at this hacienda-style Hilton built on one of the Corridor's few swim-friendly beaches. It's a multipurpose, business-friendly, wedding-friendly, kids-friendly hotel. The infinity pool is beautiful, and all four restaurants serve outstanding food, especially the sushi bar. Groups and families make up most of the clientele here. Four meeting rooms will accommodate up to 600. In the guest rooms, elaborate headboards, luxurious linens, and L'Occitane bath products are lovely touches to a resort that has an edge on most properties in this price category.

Amazing Resort!

This is the best Hilton you can stay at overall. Nothing is perfect - but they do give a 'Perfect Effort' at the Cabo Hilton. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I am looking forward to coming back. I booked the room at the Hilton website and then upgraded to a suite as our date got closer. I also highly recommend the stress free Escalade airport pickup and return. I needed the two beers I drank in the short ride after the

airplane fun and our driver was GREAT. It is the way to start a relaxing vacation. He called ahead with our check in drink order and everyone greeted us by name from the guard gate to bellmen. The bellman did an in room check in which is nice and the suite had two bathrooms which my wife loved and nice dining room table and a large balcony for less than $350 a night! We also got to pre - order special pillows and in room refreshments on the website prior to arrival and that too was thoughtful and ready as we walked in to an excellent air conditioned room. If you like hanging by the pool or in the pool with GREAT service at all times then this is the spot. Fish tacos are world class at the swim up bar and the new pizza oven is probably done as I write this. Bartenders and servers are super friendly and will teach you to make some interesting drinks. Personal coolers by the pool are frowned upon but you just need to camouflage a small soft sided cooler with towels and buy the same beers the hotel might serve you poolside and you can save a couple of bucks a day - but I always racked up a $100 - $150.00 easy a day and was happy to do so. I haven't seen a reviewer mention the free massage chair poolside! I must have done it three times a day and happily tipped $5-10 bucks per ten minute session. I was a perfect touch to a world class pool side vacation. Early there was a cold fruit kabob, then later the sunglass cleaner came along... and the attentive pool servers were always close by and faster than any I have ever experienced. Arturo was a pro. Supervisors were always patrolling the scene to make sure all was well. I also did a tequila tasting which isn't a thing they usually do but the women who spent a couple of hours was us was wonderful and we tasted many a great tequila in special tasting glasses - just ask. I think it was only $40 and I drank much more than that and it came with a nice booklet. My wife also needed to see the USC game on TV and the main lobby bar sports bar has some huge mirrors that hide huge TV screens. I think my wife screamed so loud that the bartenders dropped glasses on a couple of occasions. Also a real treat is the guitar and bass player in the bar. Excellent - and I could watch them for hours sipping tequila with sangria and listening to them play originals and cover tunes in the bar area. Very chill. This hotel is super clean and always being painted and maintained. The room, the pool, the common areas, very clean given the army of staff that start early to prepare the property for the day. The key to all of this 'Perfect Effort' the hotel manager. The staff think of him highly and like working for him. The staff also get lots of training weekly. This includes English language training and others along the lines of the best resorts you can name. This manager has a huge case of awards given to him by his peer group and seemingly from his loyal staff. This is rare indeed and key to this properties success. Hilton people come to his hotel to relax... I met several that traveled from nice vacation spots to stay at this hotel which is a testament to the rave reviews of many on trip advisor. Hey its a big hotel - but it does it better than most on several levels and yes it costs money to eat and drink good food at a nice hotel. Thank God it isn't cheap - Go to the RIU in Cabo if you want average food and all inclusive ho hum service and average cleanliness, and worn furniture, and small towels, ... bachelor party frat house noisy crap. I want nice stuff and I know it going to cost me a bit more than eating at home! The prices are fair and worth every penny eh! Save up and enjoy nice stuff - remember it costs more and that is a good thing. It keeps the riff raff at the motel/resort all inclusive next door - right? The beach is sandy but small rocks can eat your feet if you like a long walk of any sort and I like a long early morning beach walk every day to work off the beer and tequila. Take some older tennis shoes and socks for your daily walk and camel back or water of some sort. The beach is almost deserted and beautiful. Keep an eye on the huge waves along the way and you can turn around at the Casa del Mar for a great walk on the sand with almost no one around - maybe one vendor who never did bother me. Then leave your shoes for someone who might really need them on your last day. This hotel and location is the best vacation value I have found for the money if you like to spend your days hanging at the pool and getting some sun and eating some great Mexican food with a staff that attends to your needs and then some.
