Cabo San Lucas

Competition among operators in Cabo San Lucas is pretty fair, so most offer comparable, if not identical, prices. Both jet skiing and waterskiing cost about $45 for a half hour and $70 for a full hour.

For every type of water- and land-sports equipment, including diving gear, WaveRunners, and parasails, head to JT Water Sports (Playa Médano. 624/144-4566 or 624/144-4066. www.jtwatersports.com), where WaveRunners rent for about $80 an hour; parasailing costs $40.

Omega Sports (3 locations on Playa Médano, near ME Cabo, Cabo San Lucas. 624/143-5519) offers jet skiing. You might want to try a ride on the wild and crazy banana boat.

Pisces Watersports (Far side of Playa Médano, Cabo San Lucas. 624/148-7530 cell phone) is a large jet-skiing and water-skiing operation that also gives 12-minute banana boat rides (long, yellow inflatable rafts towed by high-speed motorboats). This is also a good place to rent Hobie Cats by the hour and other miscellaneous water-sports equipment.

Tio Sports (Playa Médano, Cabo San Lucas. by Meliá San Lucas. 624/143-3399. www.tiosports.com) was one of the original water-sports companies on El Médano Beach nearly 20 years ago and it's still a major operator with a sports palapa located on the beach at the ME Cabo Resort and stands and offices throughout Los Cabos. They can hook you up with aquatic tours, horseback rides, kayak rentals, and packages that include scuba and snorkeling.
